Hi friends!(:
I swear time is going by faster and faster with every passing second. Does anyone else feel like they might just fall off the face of the earth because it has to be spinning way faster than normal?
There are not enough hours in the day.
We are so busy here, its almost ridiculous. I love it though.
I mentioned last week that we have been asked to give away at least one Book of Mormon a day. We have seen miracles as we have gone out of our way to do so! We have passed out 16 copies this week, and it hasnt even been very hard. The people that we have met have been so prepared. Robby asked US if we could come back another time and answer some of his questions. Charity is just getting into Christianity and is willing to learn more. Cindy, Carl, and Julie were the NICEST humans on the planet and were so genuinely thankful that we gave them copies and asked if we could come back another time. We don't tract out here because we really don't need to. People seem to find us. Or the people that we contact on the streets or in their front yards or who are with other investigators are so stinkin' prepared it's ridiculous.
#miracles
It has been hot and humid and thunderstorm-y.
There is nothing like a Wisconsin thunderstorm during tornado season.
"Its like a strobelight in the sky!"
There have been some crazy storms and some trees have been knocked over. The Buchanan's tree fell over and missed their front door by INCHES. This week has been super nostalgic because it reminds me of my first days as a missionary in Appleton. All we did was help people clean up the trees that the tornado demolished. And now, almost a YEAR later, I'm doing the same thing. (except there haven't been tornados here). But like, seriously. How does that happen?

The good thing about hot and humid in Wisconsin though, is that the FIREFLIES come out! Remember when I learned that Wisconsin has fireflies and I almost cried with joy? Yeah... I spent every evening catching them. I caught 20 yesterday. haha. I literally think I was born wanting to catch fireflies. My childhood dream has come true! Its the greatest.
Tuesday was an interesting day. We got stood up twice in a row. We stopped by some members homes to ask if they needed anything or knew of anyone we could visit in our spare time before district meeting. District meeting was quite the adventure. For some reason I had the worst anxiety I've had in a long time. I spent most of the meeting in the hallway trying to...be a normal human. haha. It was quite the fun time.
Afterward Deidre met up with us and came out with us for the rest of the day. We saw the Crists and studied "hope" from PMG. We had a great discussion and we all learned and felt the Spirit. Then we had some extra time so we were going to go see if Aja was home yet, but Sister Elkington made a wrong turn and we found our friend Alicia running instead! It was PERFECT timing and so inspired because she is really hard to get ahold of normally. But we were able to set up a return appointment and give her a Book of Mormon. #score Afterward, God saw fit that we could see Aja, and she was home! She had just gotten back from Chicago with her two sons! Yayyyy(: We got a return appointment with her. And then we saw Tiffany and talked about hope again.
Wednesday was a party because we had a FULL day of appointments. We saw Cathleen for the first time and taught her about the Book of Mormon. (she has the cutest cat!) Gary stood us up again. We had a straight up TERRIBLE lesson with JC at the library. He was not open at all and it was just bad and bible bashy and he would not let the Spirit testify of anything. It was so frustrating. But then we saw Sister Browining and then Mikayla! We moved her baptism date up to July 26th! Shes the cutest. Our dinner appointment cancelled, but it was just fine with us cause we kinda wanted to go home and eat our own food and sit in our beds ayway. Then we had BOM class and Jacqueline and Deb came!!! It was a full house!
Thursday was slow. We had a training at the library on family history since our family history class starts this week! The library staff showed us how to use ancestry.com and library resources and we taught them about family search. It was awesome!
We got stood up by like....everyone. But it was okay because it gave us time to find new people to teach!
Friday was another busy day. We saw lots of people and gave Allison a Book of Mormon and then volunteered at the woman's shelter. It was super cool because we talked to one lady that asked us a bunch of questions and wanted us to teach her. And the guy that works there is a former investigator from the English elders and we had a good chat with him! Seriously. Everyone in Janesville is going to get baptized. Its just a matter of time. haha
We helped Deb move on Saturday. We were out in Milton, so we decided to visit Sister Paris in Whitewater and contact some people in town even though we were in non-pros clothes. It was good. It was weird to wear jeans, but everyone understood and we had some great lessons. And it saved us a ton of miles.
THEN. We got to go on splits! It was my first time going on splits, but it was awesome. Sarah came out with us this weekend. Sister Elkington and Jardine took bikes and took downtown and Sarah and I took the other side of town. We had an awwwwesome lesson with Aja on the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Word of Wisdom. She said that she was questioning baptism but that the spirit told her that she had to and that she knew it was right. She said that she was getting baptized on the 12 of July even if she had to crawl to the church. haha. She's solid. She committed to live the word of wisdom and is totally set for baptism! She even announced it during relief society yesterday!
Sarah and I had the craziest adventures. We always do. We took a kitten to the humane society. We had really awkward encounters with too many people. We caught a baby robin and thought we were going to DIE because every robin in Wisconsin came out from nowhere and tried to kill us. We talked to James and to the Campbells and had a great time.
Oh. We've befriended a wild cat and it is the cutest. I named her Libby. We feed her and she let me pet her for like .1 second last night. We like her.
Annnnnnnnnd. Thats basically missionary life in a nutshell.
Work hard, play hard.
Always catch fireflies. It's the best.
And kittens.
And baby robins.
And teach people the gospel. Thats the best of the best.
Love you all!
oh! And I'm the designated driver now! Holllaaaaa. (:
