Here we meet again.
I could summarize the week in about two words: we tracted.
haha
Tracting is fun and sometimes can be effective, but its pretty much just not the best way to do missionary work. Buuuuut, we have to fill our time with something and until we have investigators to teach, we have to find them somehow.
Monday we went to Watertown and had icecream with the elders and then tried to go see The Octagon House and the first Kindergarten in the US, but they only accepted cash, sooooo we just looked at it from the outside instead. They got bored, so they left and Sister Alder and I went window shopping. Wisconsin has the best antique stores of all time. I LOVE them. I got free Mexican candy at a mexican store because I could talk to the lady that owned it. She was super nice. We didn't buy anything anywhere, but it was fun to look around.
Tuesday was DTM in Wales. Shout out to Sister Proffit- I was in your last apartment! And Oconomowoc is not only ridiculously fun to say, but its ridiculously PRETTY. Our district is ginormous. Elder Smith and Elder Steiner and Sister Kilger are in the district which is totally fun because I've served around them at different places the past year. We did a big giant role play and then we went to Wholly Cow and got free custard. I literally don't think I can ever eat regular icecream ever again. Wisconsin has spoiled me. Also, I dont usually like milk, but it no joke tastes better here.
We spent the rest of the evening in Johnson's Creek and Watertown visiting people. It was like 90 degrees and 90% humidity so it was verrrry icky outside.
Wednesday had the potential to suck, but it wasn't actually too bad. We didnt have any planned appointments, but we found things to do anyway. The Farmers market in Commons Park is the cutest thing of all time. It's literally Stars Hollow straight out of Gilmore Girls.
We taught Yolanda, which was fun because she doesn't speak any english. [Did I mention that I got permission to get a spanish nametag??? Its only been a dream of mine forever to have a tag that says "Hermana Butler"! I can't wait till it comes in the mail.] Yolanda is super awesome and has potential. We just need to learn spanish. haha
The days are all running together now. We might have actually seen Yolanda on Thursday... Either way, she's awesome.
I got a million letters! Thanks Sun Valley Ward YW and family! We didnt do much on my year mark but missionary work, but thats how its supposed to go, so it was great. lol
I got to go to Mikayla's baptism in Janesville!!! Best thing ever! Driving into Janesville was like driving into "home". Walking in those church doors and seeing all my friends was the best. And her baptism was soooo precious and her dad said the closing prayer and asked to continue to find the answers we are looking for and it was just the cutest prayer from a dad that had no interest in the church but was willing to support his daughter. She was SO proud of him, it was adorable. I think that her family will come around and want the joy that she's found.
I got to see Aja and Jacob and James and so many people that I love.
The best part is that I get to go back next week for James's baptism!
Yaaaaaaaay!
Yaaaaaaaay!
Next step: have a baptism here. haha
This is a hard area. But I'm not going to let that get me down and miracles WILL rain from the sky.
OH! hey. A little 7 year old boy in Janesville that i LOVE just got diagnosed with leukemia. His twin already battled it once and its just SUPER sad. I literally broke down in tears as soon as i found out. Will you guys pray for him and his family? His name is Jakob Neilson.
