ONE YEAR!? 7/21/2014

Aloha from Lake Mills!
This town is soooooooo cute.
Like, I can't get over the fact that people actually LIVE  here.
It looks like vacation to me.
My companion is Sister Alder. She's from Oregon. She's been out for 14 months. She's super diligent and awesome. She's diligent in the perfect way - shes not "moan and groan and stick her nose to the grindstone" diligent, she works hard because she loves it and understands that what she's here to do. It's awesome. She's pretty quiet and laid back, but she's also hilarious. We're still trying to get to know each other, but I think we are going to work miracles here.
Lake Mills is a cute small town. It could very well be Stars Hollow. It's small like Prairie du Chien, but its close enough to Madison and Milwaukee that it isn't as redneck. haha We cover a couple of small towns: Waterloo, Watertown, Johnson Creek, and Deerfield. And there's a set of elders that cover Fort Atkinson, Whitewater, and Jefferson. The ward is small. The area is struggling a bit. We don't have many investigators right now. President told me I'm here to help the area progress, so that's what I am going to do. I feel like this is my chance to shine. I feel like I'm finally starting to *GET* it. haha. I know what strengths I have and I know how to use them now. Party!
Leaving Janesville was hard. Like, as hard as leaving Appleton, hard. I've loved all of my areas, but it was hard to leave so many people! So many of my friends either just got baptized or are about to get baptized and we were teaching so many awesome people and we had just found a family. Ahh, it was the best.
My last few days there were a BLAST though. We all went for a hike on Pday. It was soooo pretty. And we had a ton of fun. That night we had a bonfire/fireside/testimony meeting with the YSA (so basically all of our bestest pals). It was the best. The Spirit was there. We laughed until we cried. We cried until we laughed.  We ate a million and four s'mores. I got bit by a rottweiler. James Shearer almost lit himself and all of Janesville on fire. We sang hymns and bore testimony. It was the best.
We played volleyball with Sister Figueroa and other ward members on Tuesday. Ive never seen a ward so sad about missionaries being transferred. Almost everyone we said bye to cried. I'm not even exaggerating. Ward members took pictures with us and of us and cried and said, "oh, you are all going to miss each other SO much!", "Oh, the J3 is broken!", "You have been such a blessing!" It was literally the best. And I'm not saying that to brag...it was actually super humbling. I love those humans.
Now I'm in Lake Mills, and hour away but a totally different zone and stake. Milwaukee South Zone ftw!
We are working hard as a mission on being more consecrated and obedient and bold so that every area can have a baptism before October General Conference. We know it can happen! There are so many prepared people here, we just gotta find them! We found 2 SUPER golden families yesterday in Waterloo while tracting. Please pray for us! And not just Sister Alder and I, but the Milwaukee Wisconsin Mission. We are expecting miracles!
